Q: “Do you want to be working? You’re making arrangements to practice all day now!”

A: “Well, I'm trying. I'm trying to find me a little place where I can just go for a couple hours. You know, what it is? I promised my teacher. I have a teacher in New York, you know, and I promised my teacher that for once, I was going to … Since I didn't have nothing to do, I was going to practice. Because she knows I generally come to lessons, I haven't had time to practice anything and you see I've had very special teachers, you know, we sort of believe in the Abby Whiteside method, which is no fingers.”
