Q: ”You’ve been interested always, in the technical end of things – not as an engineer or anything, but simply as how you can use the tool but at the same time, you prefer simplicity. You don’t want to go into twenty-four track recorders and all that?”

A: “No, I do. I record if possible on 4-track and if I can't record on 4-track, then if we need some cracks for overdubbing, which I don't like to do, but if you do as I had to with Alberta Hunter, then some of those were made 8-track, you know. So that other things could be added, but luckily we didn't have to add anything. So basically, they're still 4-track album.”
